Ah, but that price at Monarch is without shipping, which will run you close to $6 for FedEx ground, therefore $156 total. The ZZF deal has it at $155 with free 2nd-day, making it an overall better deal (ie, saving a buck and getting faster shipping).
On the other hand, as soon as DFI gets their act together and gets some boards out, I'd expect the price to drop for MSI and other boards just a bit so they remain competitive ... hopefully that's what will happen anyway. Personally, I'd wait a week and see what happens.
Ah, tax ... the bane of online ordering 😀 W00t for living in Indiana! 😀
I wouldn't think too much, maybe about $10 ... but you're also more likely to score some nice one-day deals and things like that once the competition kicks in. This is a similar concept as to why the A8N was so drastically high just a bit ago but is much more realistic now.
Hey, I live in Indiana too. 😀 Anywho, I doubt prices will go down once DFI comes out with their board. I suspect that the price of DFI will be about the same price of MSI, assuming it has all the same features. My logic behind it is:
There's already other nForce 4 Ultra boards out at around the same price.
There needs to be room for regular nForce4 boards
There are still many nForce3 boards in retailers hands that need to be sold
I just bought my first non-ASUS board, the MSI neo4. I'm a little scared but hope all goes well. So long mR. Asus, it's been fun knowning you.
Just bought and built a system using the MSI K8N Neo4. So far, so good. Very easy install, works like a dream out of the box. Will post more once I'm done testing and tweaking it. 🙂
