MSI Neo4 SLI Problems, switched from an a8n sli deluxe

hey guys, i usually dont ask for help all too often, but im pretty stumped on this one, and im thinking someone here could help me out. of all the forums i searched, anyone that switched from the a8n to this board had good results. well, not me.

here is my hardware:

A8N SLI or MSI Neo4 SLI
a64 3000+ (tried 2 different chips, results didnt change)
2x512 corsair PC4400C25
2xasus 6600gt
xp120 with 120mm panaflo
pc power and cooling 510 sli
2xwd raptors and 2x80gig hitachis, all on the nvraid channels

with the asus a8n sli setup i could run 277x9 at 2T deault timings = 2500mhz prime stable for over 24 hours.

now with everthing the same except switching the board over to the neo4 i cant even run the same 2T settings as on my a8n. prime errors instantly.

are there any settings in the bios im missing that you need to change on the msi? i rma'd the first neo4 thinking it was defective, but i dont think i would get 2 bad ones in a row. any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hey Veedo--Did you reinstall the os, or just swap boards? Do you have your Corsair vdimm set up manually?

Got a new A64 core out that has an updated memory controller--be interesting to see if it has any effect of 1T oc's.

yea, fresh os install, tried all different vdimm voltages also.

I had a similar experience going from the Gigabyte k8nxp-sli to the Neo4 plat-sli
I could hit 265fsb x9multi, on air @ 2.4ghz with the Neo same ram and a new Antec Neo true power 480w ps, the SOB wont go over 220fsb, unless I drop the HT to 1x then I tap out at 250fsb. And this board was supposed to be the (2nd) best ocer of the SLI crowd. Ive tried everything. Taken the board out, switched ram, used 1 vid card, both vid cards. You name it ive tried it. I hope its a bios thing

by chance are the CPUs winchesters?

I have read on some forums that there may be a MSI issue with winchester chips and/or a HTT not reporting the right multiplier. (i think they said it always wanted to go to 4x, which caused the board to not go any higher)
