I just installed my 3000 939pin & msi k8n neo2 plat. motherboard and ran into memory problems. I have 2 sticks of 512mb Corsair XMS3200 memory that will not run over 166mhz. I manually set it to 200mhz and still shows up as pc2700. I have messed with all of the timings with no luck as well. I even upgraded the 1.2 bios to 1.3 with no results. I am stuck and am getting very impatient because I can not find a single solution on the internet. I will appreciate ANY help.

Thank you,
Justin

Did you set the adjustments from auto to manual? The memory timings on this board are loctaed on a page of there own.

Justin,is your MB POST showing Dual Channel mode?
If no,then you probably have your mem sticks in the wrong slots. For DC mode they need to be in oppostite color neighboring slots(1 in purple,1 in green - next to each other) I used the 2 nearest the CPU.
That should solve your problem.
Also you can manually set your memory timing in bios.Set it for 2-2-5-2-1T and VDIMM @ 2.75V.Those are the stock ratings for XMS-3200XL memory, assuming your's is the XL memory. If not go to Corsair's website and look up your particular modules timing.
Complete information next time buddy if seeking help, not just my car is blue and it won't start.Get it?

If you have an older module, one made before last December we would have used the JEDEC defined values for PC-2700 in the SPD as there was no spec for DDR400 until January of 2003!
However the module should show the correct part# and I would not worry about it, just set the timings manually!
Thank You!

I own the Neo2 Platinum and just as the recently bashed Epox board, the memory timings default to DDR 333 when all four (4) dimms are filled. How did Anand get around this? It's documented in their manual.

Well, I was borrowing the memory from my brother and he has two sticks (bought about 4-5 months apart) of xms3200 memory. I am in the process of selling my current value ram and borrowed one of his sticks which reads -
xms3200v1.1 . The strange thing is, is that this memory when put in single channel, registers as pc2700, no matter what timings I use. I know that I am supposed to put one stick in slot 1 and another in slot 2, so that is not the problem. I tried every timing combination possible.. My corsair value ram shows up just fine as pc3200.
