Yup, almost 48 hrs stright, no problems at all, still 47c and believe me I have multitasked this puppy to death. My own little stress test. I will try a new power supply this weekend if I get time, and try for 2.7 !

well, I am running the 64-bit on my dual opterons, and stability is fine. I don;t think it would be any different on the X2

Mine is so far. I've had windows XP up and running since early this afternoon and haven't had a single blue screen. Since I had to reinstall XP I've been installing two applications at a time, and it just chugs away. I also was able to get 64 bit linux up and running stable on both cores using linux kernel 2.6.12.1. Apparently earlier versions of the linux kernel panic when run on dual core CPUs in SMP mode.

Well, I just updated the BIOs in my Abit AV8, and put my other X2 in it, and it also works with no re-install. I did however have to manually set the computer type to multi-processor. I am not sure I believe the temp readings on it, so I didn't go over 1.4v, and at 2477 it still says 65c full load !

I just saw that DFI released a new NF3 main board. I hear it should support dual core chips. This is the response I got back from DFI tech support.

"My personal boards bios shows space that other cpu would show up in so I would certainly think so.
Thank you. "

I know its not 100% but its a start. I still leaning toward MSI but at this point I just want a good quaility board that has little to no problems with XP64

How many CFM's does the fan on your XP 90 push?

I believe my Zalman does 50CFM @ 2800rpm..

The DFI board is X2 supported out of the box. Contains an X2 logo on the box and in documentation.

Sick... I'm paying off previous upgrades. As I said, it's like heroin. I think I'm going to wait awhile before going to X2. Man, what a time to be a PC user!

I am having a slight stability problem with my X2. At 1.47v(1.7v in BIOS), the first core crashes immediately even at stock speed. !?!@? Currently running 1.3v at stock speed. :( I did run a while at 220x11 (2420) at 1.3v but 2nd core crashes after a few hours of prime.

Anyhow, I am also having freeze problem when using my audio card (RME 9636). When playing audio, the machine will freeze, first programs stop responding, mouse, then the whole machine.

What PSU are you running ? I think a good 380 is minimum for the X2, 500 Antec preferred. Sounds like not enough power.

Nope link please...

I installed the 1.9b5 non modded one on my current system now in prelude ot an X2 arrival and I have to say the bios needs some tweaking and I need more options back...single core users can have problems with the lack of multiplier....

Ater my initial flash it thought my multi was 5 and set my cpu at 1.14ghz and vcore at 1.14v....I set to optimized settings which set everything back like 5x multi and 200HTT..I then raised it up form thee and dropped the multi down to 3x and go tmyslef back to where I was...

early results but ram timings may be better on this bios...stil testing....

 Hi,
I'm new to these forums. Anyway, to get to the point, I flashed the 1.95b non modded and modded bios's. I have an fx-55 currently runnning on my neo2. I can't seem to get into the bios using the delete key. I used a USB and PS/2 keyboard, which are both recognized and still wasn't able to delete into the bios. It recognizes both keyboards because I was able to get into ms-dos and flash back to 1.8. I cleared the cmos several times with both bios's and was still unable to delete into the bios. I have an x2 and don't want to put it in yet, unless I know for sure that's the only way the 1.9b5 bios will recognize my keyboard and let me in. I also don't want to put the X2 in because I'm using a Prometia Mach II cooler and I have to redo the seal string and take the CPU holder apart and so on to change the CPU out. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry flick I have a ps/2 and I had no issues with that one....Try reflashing back to an older bios and then reflash again....

I have the new bios and I will provide a link for you ppl....

I have not run it yet because I am still exhaustingly testing the previous beat version....

Rumors have it...Ah asically I cant read german but I think they may have multiplier support back in there which is nice for venice and non X2 persons....

I hear perhaps some other things that disappeared from 1.8 ar eback and it may now read the correct vcore....

The fact the beats are working in this range makes me thing an official bios likley labelled 2.0 will be coming soon...

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Come to think of it, my USB keyboard is wired and won't let me delete into the bios. My PS/2 keyboard, however, is wireless. Anyway, I'm thinking maybe I should try a regular wired PS/2 keyboard which I haven't done yet. Thinking about it more, I've had this problem on other people's systems and once on my own. Didn't dawn on me until I read your posts. A light popped on for some reason. I'll try it when I get home. Thanks again for the quick response guys.

I have the K8n Neo2 Platinum, a 4400+ X2, and 4GB of memory... With the 1.8 BIOS the BIOS counts only 2.5GB of memory. Is this a combination problem with the X2 on this BIOS? Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Has anyone tried >2GB of memory with the X2 on this or any of the beta BIOS versions?

The memory is 1GB sticks of Corsair ValueSelect DDR400. Also when I take out two sticks it shows 2GB of memory. I wanted to try it with 3 to see what happens but the manual mentioned something about 3sticks at a time being bad.

Thank you,
Rusty

First, with 1.8 bios, your system will only use one core. You need to get the 1.9b6 bios listed above. As for the 2.5 vs 4, I don;t know. What does the manual say ? (I'm too lazy to look it up)

Edit: Ok, I looked it up. It supports 4 gig, but only with ECC memory.
