Does anyone have an idea on how accurate the MSI Neo Platinum temperature sensors are for the CPU?

Just took a look at the readings and this thing is running 69 deg C idle.

Its a 3000+ A64 w/ Stock heatsink/fan.

I have a Thermaltake Silent Boost on order and hope that thing isn't as loud as the stock, and that it cools better.

Just wondered what others temps are with this specific MB.

People are saying that board reports temperatures too high on Newcastle cores, and that that'll probably be fixed with the next BIOS.

Yeah, sounds about right. Found some more info on the MSI forums, apparently it runs about 20 - 25 degrees high currently with Newcastle cores.

Thanks.

I did replace the stock hs/f with a Thermaltake Silent Boost K8. Dropped the temps 9 deg to 61 C (really around 41C), so that isn't bad at all. Also a LOT quiter!

Amazing what a good hs/f and some Arctic Silver can do.
