I recently purchased the MSI Neo 2 Platinum nf250gb and I noticed that while in games under full load my system would crash. Everything is pretty much up to spec except for the PS according to some forum members. Currently my 12v rail is only at 18 (watts?) and my 3v at 5. Later this week I will receive my new PS (OCZ Powerstream 420) and see if that fixes my lockup issue while under full load. I know I am not having temp issues because it's not overclocked and has all the stock fans needed (cpu, case, video). I just am not too sure of the 12v rail theory being valid at this point. I will post back after upgrading the PS.

p.s. My temps never rise past 40c so temp is not an issue. I also have the latest bios upgrade for the mobo.

Ok, I received the power supply today and installed it. I ran NFSU to see if I could get a run down the track....no luck. While I was adding new bumpers and sideskirts to the car in game, it crashed. It might be the fact that a Geforce 3 video card is rendering the game. It might not be able to handle the game. So I dunno now. I will have to find out when I get a new video card...I guess....

Disable FastWrite in your BIOS, if it isn't already. Most graphics cards and motherboards usually have a problem with this FastWrite feature. :p

And if you're wondering: no, this won't affect performance much (I reckon only 1%).

Well, I ended up finding out that it was just my CDrom drive. It quits reading cds properly (it's 4 years old) from time to time. While I was playing NFSU and the system would crash, I just opened and closed the CDrom drive door. This would bring the game back after waiting a few seconds for the drive to read the disc again. I went into bios and re-enabled my 1% performance gain. Thx for the help though. I just need that new vid card for a higher framerate now. (and a new cdrom drive soon...decisions, decisions...)
