Hi, Built my wife a new PC beginning of this year and been trying to troubleshoot a booting issue it has maybe 1 out of every 20 reboots.
Specs of the system are as follows a new Evga supernova G2 650watt (replaced a older seasonic to see if issue was the power supply) memory is corsair vengeance cmk16GX4M2B3200C16R.

Using 2 spinner harddrives on Sata2 and Sata5 also using a Sabrent 1TB Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD Extreme Performance Solid State Drive (SB-ROCKET-NVMe4-1TB) as the boot drive this does not show on the screen when this happens but I don't see it either when it boots correctly...unless my eyes are just too slow and that screen only stay up a second or two.

CPU is Ryzen7 3700X and video card is XFX 5700 Ultra DD flashed to a XFX Rx 5700XT THICC II Ultra

Currently running bios .A70 dated 01-09-2020 (was using a different bios in pic with same issue strange I cannot find the one in the pic anymore and it has a higher version number BUT a older date although 1 day). There are none of the led troubleshooting lights lite up when this happens.
operating system is w10 and also almost forgot using a external usb dvdrom also.

pic 1 is the screen where it freezes
pic2 is memory currently installed its also 2x8GB sticks
pic3 is memory was installed
pic 4 is just showing the memory settings

Thanks and any advice will be greatly appreciated as wife is getting upset with me since I picked the parts and built it

When this happens it is totally frozen up and also works after hitting the power button again.

did you try it without the NVME drive?

Not yet as thats her OS drive that will be my last one I try. Got to get one drive of my off my pc and image hers over to that hard drive. Also thought about swapping my nvme with hers as my mb is also a MSI brand but not a 570 though.

update...well day 2 no issues so far but I'm not claiming success yet! I removed the 2 spinner hard drives and replaced them with one spare drive I have. If it happens again will be time for me to swap out our nvme drives even though they are the same brand they use different controllers.

Finally got wife to agree to let me image the nvme drive and install a sata drive first and see then going to get my nvme drive and swap it with hers. Figured then we should know 100% if its the mobo or the nvme.

If its the mobo unless it gets worse just going to let it be as its not that bad.

Well, finally got the sata spinner drive installed and on the first 2 boots it froze on the same screen so went ahead and removed it and reinstalled the nvme as it looks like its the motherboard. either going to let it be or see if MSI will cross ship a replacement as cannot be without the pc.

Well RMA got approved just going to buy another X570 board and sell the replacement they send me.
if you're looking at not spending a lot of money then the Asus Prime X570-P is a great bargain. Plus it has 2 M.2 slots for NVME drives and one of the best vrm setups available.

Yes saw that, and that's what you got also. It was hard trying to find a place that has it in stock strange is that while Newgg said certain 3rd party sellers had it in stock I went to thier website and it showed not in stock, I need a good price and fast delivery like before end of this week so I can get it done before I start back to work and hopefully no fussing wife! So I just went with the MSI X570-A Pro it as same hardware so should be plug and play but it's also a slight step down due to heatsinks aren't as good. Figured speed and simplicity wins out on this one.

I am not a big fan of MSI. They are OK but not great.

I was lucky due to having a local store with the Asus in stock and $20 off on sale.

I live in Canada and prices here are much higher than those in the US, so getting things on sale is what I do best. In building the rig in my sig I managed to save $125 on my build. My tower isn't listed but it is a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M tg(tempered glass) unit. The only things not new is my PSU as I used it in my previous build and my video card which I bought used 3 weeks ago.

I used not to like MSI but the last 5 systems I built all used MSI boards and this is the only one that gave me fits. I miss the days Abit and Epox...minus the bad cap spell!

don't remind me of that! MSI was the worst offender for that. After 3 boards died from that I said no more MSI boards.

Forgot to mention I went with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 34 Esports Duo for cpu cooling. I love this cooler. It isn't small but it works great.

lol..I had 3 Epox replaced at same time due to the bad caps but they did me good and even replaced one with a newer better board.

Well here is my last update....MSI is sending me a replacement under warranty which either I will keep for a future build or just sell. The MSI X570-A Pro I purchased to avoid downtime waiting on MSI has been working flawless with the same hardware/devices so it defiantly was the mobo.
