I just upgraded my entire rig and I ended up with a conroe 2.66ghz 4mb intel 1333fsb processor, msi p6n platinum sli motherboard, and 4gb of patriot ddr2 800 ram matched sticks. But I have XP and Vista x64 ultimate loaded on seperate drives on the thing, in both OS's the usb keyboard and wireless mouse I have are extremely flakey. You will be typing for one minute and all of a sudden it will freeze a key on the screen and type it 15 times. It's not the same key or anything wrong with the keyboard, I tried it on a couple other computers. The wireless mouse is a Logitech G7 and it's brand new but one time when you load up windows the mouse will be fast at setting 2 and the next time it will be dog slow then speed up randomly at times by itself. I'm beginning to think the usb ports on this motherboard are bad because it does it in both operating systems. I was thinking about trying a pci card usb 2.0 to see if it was just the onboard motherboard usb ports but I don't have one readily available. I also have used a USB flashdrive on the thing but that didn't have any problems at all for the little amount I used it. Anyone heard of a problem like this or should I just RMA the thing from newegg since I just bought it a week ago?

Did you install the motherboard drivers? How about updated ones on the website?
If bad (or no) drivers can cause terrible IDE and AGP lag, I can see how it could also cause USB lag.

Yeah its the nforce 650i chipset and I installed all of those drivers in both windows xp and vista. Everything else works on the motherboard that I've tried but those. I've tried reinstalling them several times too, different versions of them as well. I don't use the onboard audio or gigabit lan port but the rest of the board works fine from what I can tell. I'm actually using a ps/2 keyboard on it right now and I haven't had any problems with it at all.

Have you tried fiddling with the USB settings in the bios? Some of the most mundane settings can cause major problems. For example, on my brother's Athlon 2800 (it's also an MSI motherboard), enabling USB "Legacy Support" prevents the computer from even getting past post. Stupid little things like that are always the hardest to troubleshoot.

The simple fact of the matter is, USB keyboards and mice still have a long way to go, especially the keyboards. It seems to get a little better with every new chipset release, and both seem to work fine with the new P35's and X38's, but unfortunately, your motherboard has an nVidia chipset, and they don't seem to be as far along, at least concerning overclocking or USB keyboard support.
