There is no problem. The alternator has a built in regulator that is made to keep the voltage at 14.4V, when it's off the battery will normally be between 12.0 and 12.8V. If you see it drop below that, have it tested to make sure that the alternator is putting out current and that the battery doesn't have a shorted cell.
