MSI kt266 and sound blaster live. NEED INFO

Sorry if this has been posted, but I did search. I am thinking about upgrading from my current mobo(asus a7a266), but I need your opinion on if it is a good choice. The MSI got good reviews but is there still a major problem with the live and via chipset, a big enough problem that I should not get the board. The only other board I am really interested in is the leadtek 735 which cost about the same amount.
I am getting ready to get a new video card either a g3 ti200 or 8500 oem, but the rest of my system includes:
1ghz athlon
sound blaster live
nic
2 hd
512 ddr (2 *256) crucial
and right now a geforce 256 ddr

I wouldn't even bother with the new upgrade but this board has not been the best of expereinces.

Thanks for any help.

None at all. What really sounded bad was the AC97 audio onboard. I thought I would give it another chance with my new system, but it let me down again. It hasn't skipped a beat in games and music ever since I put it in.

Please don't tell my new MSI K7T 266a that it isn't supposed to work with the SB Live. The install was almost effortless and I loaded all the bells and whistles. It's working great. However, I do hear a pop when Windows 98 or XP plays the startup wav upon booting. I could attribute that to the initializing of the card, but then I didn't have it on the ABIT BH6?!?!? Not a big deal since there are no other pops once loaded.

Good luck,
R
