Has anyone tried this board??

MSI K9A2 CF-F Socket AM2+/ AMD 790X/ DDR2-1066/ CrossFire/ A&GbE/ ATX Motherboard

Looks like a great deal on the 790x chipset based boards.

I was gonna try a 5200+ in it.

(I already own e2140 and q6600 systems, and just want to play.)

I have the K9A2 Platinum (which I talked about Here) which is the one just above the CF and in all I think MSI have done a great job with these boards, I own an Intel setup aswell and I'll say this one is more fun to OC :p AMD Overdrive is great.

I'm going to buy this motherboard, homever, before purchase, anyone knows if this mobo carry the same 95w cap as the CF vanilla model?

Thanks!

Yup, that board does NOT support 125w processors according to MSI. Plenty of stories of it physically bursting into flames when people tried using a 6400+ with it.

The plantinum version does not have that limitation.

I've ended buying a Biostar 7050, i don't plan to use Phenom for some time now, i've just sold the crappy asus M2N-MX (really, not crappy, but it's very mobo intel-like, with near zero OC). Those Biostar T-Force motherboards have great reputation on its own. Hope mine doesn't end burning in flames
