msi K8T Neo-FIS2R motherboard, built in firewire doesnt work?

has the little yellow exclamation point next to it, in device manager, to let you know its not working. have tried to reinstall drivers, to no avail (there aren't any other drivers)

nothing on the disc that came with the mobo or anything.

any suggestions?
 
yes....

i disabled and reenabled it, does nothing.

I then disabled a bunch of other stuff (serial, parallel) and the Net adapter now doesn't have the excalamation point, but still whatever i plug in to the on board firewire doesnt work.
 
no, not overclocking.

actually i just got the system yesterday, second hand... but it doesnt appear to be overclocked. maybe it was before. who knows.
