MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum

I have no option in the bios, Latest version to set 1T timings in the Cell menu. I don't want to use a64 tweaker.

Who is running what bios and are there any trick sheets out there?

I can find everything on the Neo2, but not much on the Neo4.

I'm about done with this board...I love my Neo2, but this thing has some issues. It's stable, but I'm unable to change the 2t timing in the bios, and I'm now on the 6th bios...and it takes forever to boot into windows. I think it doesn't like my 3500 also...seems really slow.

On to another board...

It also appears tat Newegg will not take this board back for an exchange. I'm going to try and call them tomorrow, as I don't believe that an exchange will do anything. I have found no information on the strange 1T problem that I'm having. Every site lists this option in the bios, yet mine is not there...If someone knows of a good site with specific information, please respopnd...I'd hate to loost $130.

The DRAM stuff isn't in the Cell menu - I think it is under Advanced Chipset (something)...let me reboot and find it real quick 😛

Ok...in 1.B, it should be under
Advanced Chipset Features
DRAM something (only thing there)
then
Change "User Config mode" to "Manual", and you should have the 1T/2T option.

FYI.
Also some of the options in the bios are hidden(not 1T/2T)to access them push shift+F2 then ALT+F3. you need to do this with every page.

is that true for the Neo4 Palt..I know it was true for Neo2 Plat

1T/2T option was never in a hidden menu on the Neo2 Plat

"is that true for the Neo4 Palt..I know it was true for Neo2 Plat"

I have the Neo4 Plat.Ultra and it worked with Bios V1.8 haven't tried it with 1.9.

Not on the Neo4 Plat.Ultra either.

Been there and done that...nothing extra shows up. I also have the settings configured to manual and it is just not available. I'm sending off an email to MSI regarding this as my board is rev 3, and maybe they set this to ensure that 4 sticks would work out of the gate.

That bios did the trick...and for some reason now I can run any of the bios versions from 1.3 through 1.6 and the 1T option is still there...I wonder if my original boot block was bad as I wiped out the entire bios this time.

I have now taken my old Winnie 3200+ up to 2.5 stable on the stock multi of 10...and this is something I could not due (and be prime stable) on my old Neo2 board. Now it's time to slap in my Opty and 7800GT and see where she can go!!!

Please update with your OC'ing results...I'm considering this mobo to OC an Opty 146.

THANKS, Bud.
