Is anyone here running a Neo2 Platnium with any of the 2-2-2-5 memories like CorsairXL, OCZ Plat Rev 2.0, etc? Are you guys running at 2-2-2-5 1T or 2-2-2-10 1T like Anandtech and not having any problems? Can you pass the first test on Prime95 without failing? I always fail the first test on Prime95 unless I put my timings to 2.5-3-3-8 2T.

Hi to everyone.

Same problem here: received a Neo2 yesterday and cant set the latencies to Cas 2-2-2-5 as it should be at 400Mhz with my OCZ Platinum Limited Edition (Winbond BH6) PC3200 memory modules %12Mbx2 double sided).
Have 2 modules in the first dimms (1 and 2) in Dual Channel and it works ok with everything set at "Default" (Cas 2-3-3-6), but when i lower the Cas to Ras precharge from 3 to 2, it won´t pass Memtest...tried a lot of configurations and the best one with 1T is 2-3-2-X, as i really can´t set it to Cas 2-2...Don´t know what could be the problem....these modules work perfect in other motherboards with Cas 2-2...at PC3200....maybe a voltage issue? Tried with 2.85 VDimm and nothing change.

Please, help. Let us know how you can configure Neo2 with Cas 2-2...latencies. I have the 1.1 bios revision.

Thank you very much.

I have been running 2-2-2-10 timings fine on my MSI K8N Neo2. I am using 2x 512MB Corsair 3200XL which are rated for 2-2-2-5.
I ran memtest without any problems.
I am going to run Prime 95 now.. Let me know if you want to know any other specific settings I am using....

I've got Crucial Ballistix pc3200 running at 2-2-2-5, and have no probs with memtest. Got thru first 5 tests of prime95 with no probs.

Ok, I just ran Prime95 for about 4 hours with no problems. I'm guessing my memory is pretty stable....
One question I do have is about the processor temp..
My readings are always between 43 and 48C. It usually reads 43 when I start my PC and around 47 after it's been on for a while. Thing is, the temp is always around 47 when it's been on for a while regardless if I'm not running anything or if I'm running very CPU intensive programs....

I don't have cool and quiet turned on..
I just figured the temp would shoot up a lot more when I really tax the CPU.....

It's a AMD64 3500 w/ a Zalman 7000Cu heatsink fan.

Changing my AGP Voltage to 1.60, my CPU Voltage to 1.55, and my RAM Voltage 2.70 solved the problem for me. I ran Prime95 for 9 hours no errors.

but, it should work ok at defaut voltages, correct? Should not be necessary to change the voltage, at least these Platinum OCZ Limited should work ok at VDimm 2.7v an the rest on default...

I tested my 2 modules separately with Memtest and one seems to work ok with Cas to Ras on 2, but the other one is maybe defective, as it only runs ok at Ras to Cas 3, and that´s why i can only run at Cas 2-3 in Dual Channel. Will probably RMA this module....but still testing. Hope i won´t have any problems with the new kit.

Ugh.

Forget these ballistix PC4000 modules. They just crashed on a P95 run. They appeared to be ok yesterday, but today I crashed while playing the MOH Pacifica Assault demo... after the BSOD, I did another Prime95 test, and at 2-2-2-10 2.8v, they simply aren't stable for me. Crashed after 2 minutes.

I'm back on my trusty 3200LLPRO corsair modules. They run flawlessly at 2-3-2-6 w/default voltage.

My Patriot memory is rated at 2-3-2-5. I run them at 2.5-3-10-2 1T. I can run Prime95 forever at these timings with no errors but I will fail in the first minute if I lower Cas from 2.5 to 2.0. I guess these A64 939 boards really don't like Cas 2 lol, but 2.5-3-10-2 1T is plenty fine for me considering I only paid 159.99$ for this 1GB Patriot kit with heatspreaders.

It's not necessarily the motherboard. It's hard to troubleshoot though. Especially when you don't have a spare computer to try it in.

Keep in mind that the memory controler is on the CPU and not the motherboard.

Hi again.

Tested (with a tester machine at a reseller, by hardware, not memtest) both modules on a Intel i865/i875 platform and both run correctly with Cas 2-2-2-X...so i´m begining to think it may be the mainboard or the processor (as it has the memory controller integrated).

Really don´t know if t one of the modules could be faulty, as i have also heard that nForce mainboards and also this one are very triky with memory...
What could i try to know where the defect is? or it could be a compability issue? Don´t think so cause a lot of people runs a t 2-2-2 flawlesly with winbond BH5 or BH6 memory...

Thank you very much.
