For some reason, the chipset fan on my motherboard keeps spinning REALLY fast, then slows down for a few seconds, then speeds up again. It's normally pretty quiet and I don't really hear it over the other fans in my system. But tonight, my computer got really loud, and I didn't know why, it was my mobo fan spinning at 4800+ RPM. I never really payed attention, before, but I don't think it ever really went that fast. Anyone know why the fan would speed up? I'm thinking because of the mobo heating up, but what would cause it to heat up?
My computer has been on for about 8 hours (it's been on for longer periods and this never happened before). It was idle for a few hours, and most of the stuff I'm diong is using Firfox, AIM, and watching DVD movies and recorded TV shows.
