MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum or ABIT AV8 3rd Eye

Hey guys, my next system will consist of a Winchester A64 3500+. Now what motherboard should I get? the MSI Neo2 or the ABIT AV8 3rd Eye? I don't care about benchmarks and stuff, all I care about is real world performance. I here that both are very good. Which one?

Also, I see this Patriot XBL CAS 2-2-2-5 PC3200 1GB Dual Channel kit for only like 219.99 at the Egg. Would I be better of getting the OCZ Rev 2 Platinum PC3200EL instead of this? I worry about the company not being reputable.

I have the Neo2 Plat, it has alot of problems in the old versions (mainly BIOS problems that are fixed with flashing the BIOS to a newer version), if it's fixed now with the current stock of boards I would recommend it, I don't really know the ABIT and never had a board from them.

What's the price difference between the OCZ and Patriot? what about Crosair?

I see more people using the Neo2, and they seem to hit higher HTT speeds more easily.

Patriot XBL is pretty much the same thing as OCZ Platinum Revision 2, so get that if you don't want to just go $130 value RAM and see very little performance difference (see the memory sticky in the CPU/OC forum).

I was just makin sure 😉 Yea I'm gonna go with the Rev. 2 OCZ instead of the PDP. The OCZ isn't that much more now.

Just get ValueRam since you're going AMD. Pointless buying uber RAM for AMD chips since they don't need it.

Wow lol this is an old thread. Suggestions were great, but I decided a while back that I'd be going with an Nfroce4 setup.
