MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum OC with 3200+ winchester

I got my system up and running two days ago and have been using the in-Windows Core Center to change the FSB. My multiplier is set at 10X, and I can get the FSB to 220 (stock HSF and aircooling) before my sytem freezes. I want to lower the multiplier and change the ram timings to 5:4 to see if I can up the ante on the FSB speed.

I must change the HTT setting in the core cell section of the bios, correct? This is the equivalent of changing the multiplier, from what I've read. However, when I go into the HTT section of the bios, there is nothing I can change. Nothing shows up in the list. It's set at 5x, but I can't change it. When I'm in the HTT submenu (with no selections showing), I am not able to press escape to exit. I'm running the latest bios for my mobo.

I know my ram is definitely holding me back since it's Corsair Value Select ddr400. I've run across postings on other forums that this mobo calculated the ram divider a bit different. Should I set my max ram freq to something under 200?

Thanks,

Stephen

you must use the + or - keys to change it!

some tips

btw exact quote from a member here

"5x for 200FSB and under, 4X for 201-250 FSB, 3X for 251-300 FSB and so on. You need to keep it under 1000 at all times."

*slaps forehead* Thanks for the link though. I had seem that a few weeks before I ordered the mobo and couldn't find it as of late.

What voltage should be my max for a 512 mb ddr400 Corsair Value Select stick? I'd like to get my cpu well over 2.2GHz. Maybe I'll just order some better ram when I get the cash :S

you shouldnt have a problem sam, once you get up to the 10x260 or 10x270 range you can just run a divider.

im sure ideally youd want 1:1

as for voltage max it out and see what she does. the board goes to 2.85 (believe it actually sets it to 2.9)
