First a question...
Has anyone been able to get the standard WinXP USB 2.0 drivers to fully recognize the USB hub on the Neo2? Despite having SP1a and all driver updates installed, I've got a USB controller sitting in my device manager that can't find its driver. When I plug a USB 2.0 device into any of the on-board USB ports, the OS tells me I'm not using hi-speed USB, and the device is certainly not moving at USB2 speed.
Where can I locate this mysterious driver?
Now a piece of advice.
My setup is:
MSI k8N Neo2 Platinum
Athlon 64 3500+ (w/stock cooler)
1GB RAM (Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2PT)
BFG GeForce FX 5900
Plextor PX-708A
Cheapo DVD-ROM
2 80GB drives
Audigy 2 ZS
3 case fans
Vantec VAN-400B power supply
After putting this rig together, I discovered that the Vantec 400 watt PS couldn't handle it. Wouldn't even POST. To verify that it was indeed a power problem, I pulled the GeForce 5900 (which works in other machines) and put in an old TNT2. It booted right up.
I now plan to go out and buy a 500 watt supply. No doubt, this will provide the juice my new baby needs. Be warned! Athlon64+newish GeForce = power hungry!
