Hello Everyone,

I just purchased the MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum 939 MB. My question is; how do you overclock with this board? What are the steps that I need to do in the bios to successfully change the settings to overclock? I have tried every thing that I could have thought of, but without any success. Here is what I have in this build.

Thermaltake XaserV Case
K8N Neo 2 Platinum 939 w/nForce 3 Ultra
AMD Athlon 3000+ 939 90nm Winchester
OCZ EL Platinum Rev.2 PC 3200
eVGA GeForce 6800 GT
Western Digital 74 GB Raptor HDD

Bios 1.3
66.7 NVidia drivers

Any help with the order of operations would most greatly be appreciated.

:Q

go to cell menu. change htt from 5x to 3x. change frontside bus to 270 from 200. change cpu voltage from default to 1.45 . if the system is not stable change it to 1.5. change vdimm voltage from default to 2.8. you should get 2430mhz from this oc. want to go higher ? just change the fsb after that from 270 and up and adjust cpu voltage if you lack stability. make sure spread spectrum is disabled, as well as make sure cool n quiet are disabled. make sure if you are using a sata drive that it is plugged into sata port 3 or 4 (those are the ones closest to the back of the board, as in just above your card slots. Go into bios under i think it is integrated peripherals and make sure sata 1/2 is disabled. go to agp settings make sure fast writes is turned off, set your agp aperture to 256mb.

im not sure that the ocz ram is going to support 270.. actually im pretty sure it wont, so also go to dram configuration change memory speed from auto to 166. set everything to 2 but set the tras to 10
