MSI K7T266Pro has problems with zoom modem, help.

I got an MSI K7T266Pro-Raid mobo and a 800 Duron. I installed everything and it worked perfectly. (F.Y.I. Im not using Raid, im using normal IDE1). When i installed my zoom modem in, some errors came up and there was no cd-rom. I tried sticking the modem in different pci slots but no affect. i d/led and installed new drivers/flash for it, still no go. When i took out the modem....everyhting was back to normal. Can someone help me/Give me advice on what to do to have BOTH my modem and cd-rom running at the same time?
