So when exactly then is the MSI Turbo RAID supposed to be widely available? I am wondering since I am desperately awaiting one.😕

Ok.
One here
Another one here

But the board is listed only on spartantech, not on pcporgress.
And the two sites are probably one vendor actually, since they share same physical address.

I've called both and both said the board would be available in 1 or 2 weeks.

I didn't know the Turbo was available without the raid option. If this is the case, it will probably be the KT133A motherboard that I will be purchasing.

Jimmygates, do you sell these boards and what's the name of your store and do you have a link to it?

Thanks!

I didn't know the KT7 Turbo was available without Raid either. I will add it back to my list of choices. Thanks for the info.

OMG....I don't have these boards yet!@&!(*@&!(

I might take Bluesky gave me the idea of taking preorders...maybe I'll do that when the release date looms closer. 🙂

There isnt a Turbo without RAID, not that I know of, it's never mentioned on their web site and never mentioned anywhere. And Anandtech's review of the Turbo has RAID on it, the Turbo-R/Turbo is most likely just the difference in naming by the Taiwanese and US divisions.

Well, I can tell you for sure that there are both RAID and NON-RAID versions!

Just check out their HQ-website!

K7T Turbo
K7T Turbo-R

And the best part is: they are both available here in Austria! 😀 (at least 3 dealers have them listed already!)

The question that remains yet unanswered is if these boards will be able to support 1.5Gig Athlons or higher! Their website says so but with all these discussions about stuff like 2phase vs. 3phase power supply and similar things, I'm not so sure if I can trust them!

So could somebody please tell me if these boards have 3pps (that would be a good indication of future cpu supprt, as I understand it) or not so I can finally make this oh-so-hard decision, order one of these babies and sleep well once again!

Why some people wanna avoid raid?
Is there so much difference in stability issue?
Isn't it possilbe that you use the raid port as an extra ide port?
