Hi. I have the MSI K7T Turbo Raid board with an AMD Athlon XP 1500+ CPU and 256 MB PC-133 RAM. My problem is that I have the CPU set as 133 MHz FSB @ 1000 MHz. In this setup, when I cold-boot I have to power on and then hit the reset button on the case to boot. It then boots fine, and a warm boot is no problem. However, if I put the CPU as 1500+ in the BIOS, the system will not boot at all until I clear the CMOS. It doesn't like to have the FSB at 200 MHz for some reason. Any ideas how to fix this?

You might have an issue with the Power Supply. What brand and model is it?

No, it's not the power supply. This is my second power supply. The first one was a Sparkle 300-watt PS, this one is an Antec 350-watt. The same problem occurred with both. This is also my 2nd motherboard (I RMA'd the 1st) and my 2nd CPU (the 1st was an AMD Thunderbird 1.2 GHz 200 FSB, this is an AMD Athlon XP 1500+). I have had this problem all along. I have also tried a friend's RAM, but the same problem then as well. It seems like this motherboard doesn't support 200 FSB, but it says it does and has a jumper for it. MSI's website says it supports up to the 1800+ with the current BIOS (which I have.) It's really frustrating. I like the board; it has good features and other than not liking 200 FSB, I have no problems. Anyone got any other ideas?

Very strange indeed as that is the same symptoms that many boards exhibit when an insufficient PS is used. The other are would be RAM and you already tried that. Just for giggles have you tried unplugging all but the basics in the system and just booting with the RAM, video card, floppy and CPU w/hsf? Might be worth a shot. Take out PCI cards also.

Yep, I've tried that too. Although my video card is PCI. I got this new power supply because it was suspect to me. I opted for a high quality power supply (Antec) instead of a higher wattage. 350 is more than sufficient to run my system. I have a CD-RW, DVD-ROM, Floppy and 1 hard drive. As for cards, I have a SB Live X-Gamer, 56K DSI PCI modem, and an ATi Xpert 128 vid card. I think that there must be a flaw in this model motherboard that keeps it from reaching 200 FSB.
