Habrie I wasn't trying to crap or start anything, I just thought the thread was getting confusing with people who got the bios to update their pro2a's and not the turbos. Lighten up man. We're all after the same info here.

Sure, when you execute the AWFL789.EXE/nbl <<<<<there is your switch.
That makes sure to disable bios lock. "nbl=no bios lock"

Just to add a bit of info. After lowering the multiplier at 100 FSB you should BOOT at 100. At least on the IWILL mobo, this boot at 100 with the lower multiplier seems to over-ride the L6s defaults for future BOOTS at 133. One extra boot is all it takes and seems to make all the difference.

BBIIGG BUMP................
Wanting that 1.2 266fsb 9x133 on this Turbo board.
FIXED?????
Thanks Geo.
Maybe Anand should put up a link on the home page to Compuwiz1
daily trials with this Turbo thing :)

No, it does not fix the big bird multiplier issue, at least so far. I got all my lower multipliers back though. I thought I had a lemon on my hands. Overclocking stabily is not a problem with this board. It is very strong in that department. :)

Is this BIOS for Turbo-R???

Compuwiz1 - Can you give a composite update on the K7T board you've been using in your overclocking tests. I've read so much in different threads here that I can't get a good feel for your opinion on the MSI. I ordered the Turbo-R to go with the CPU I bought from you and want to know if I did a stupid thing. I don't think so, but there are some confused people here posting what I feel are over-reactions to incomplete information. I think you could clear some of it up. I think you feel this is a solid overclocking board with a few quirks that need to be understood but that once understood do not cause major problems. Is this accurate?

FredC Wasn't trying to bug you either. May have sounded a little too straightforward, didn't mean to.

Compuwiz1 You mean to say you still can't lower the multiplier on 1Ghz+ T'birds? Did you lower the multiplier at 100fsb, then reboot, shut down and set fsb133?

My 900 is humming along at 7x145, stable as a rock. Doesn't seem to be able to go beyond 1030Mhz, but ya can't have it all...

Well maybe I should still wait couple of days before I order the Turbo,
though I also have 900mhz tbird like habrie so it looks very promising..

habrie, have you had any other problems with the board, besides this
multiplier thing? How does it feel like ;)

mto81: I have to say I'm really happy with this board. After bugging you people bout how to flash this 1.6 bios for way too long, it's running just fine. Stable as a rock, no lock-ups or BSOD's whatsoever.

And it's quite a lot cheaper than the Asus or Abit boards, which isn't insignificant to us Dutch either :)

Someone posted in another thread that this does not work with Turbo-Raid. Anyone here use it successfully on a raid yet?

So is there any truth to the rumor that the Pro2A is actually a KT133A indisguise? Is there like a "switch" to enable it to use the 133Mhz FSB without a hitch?

Flashed the new beta bios with Turbo-R. This BIOS will overwrite the RAID bios so I suggest users with RAID not use this BIOS. After I flashed the board, it didn't recognize my RAID controller.

I am really puzzled here guys, I have right now K7T pro 2 and K7T Turbo + 1 GHz Tbird. I wasn't able to make my CPU work @ FSB 133MHz as the system wouldn't even boot if I remove the FSB 100/133 jumper. Do you think that the /nbl switch might be able to solve the issue? I managed to flash the BIOS to the overclockers one the normal way but no matter what multiplier I select the CPU loads as 1000MHz??? Is there something wrong with the K7T Turbo or is it to do with the 1+ GHz Tbirds after all? Would the same problem persist with another board - say A7V133 or something from Abit?

I still have another week left before making a decision to return the mobo to the shop but I am already tired of assembling and disassembling my PC :(((

Thanks for your help!

You did actually connect the L1 bridges ? It looks like they are not/not correctly connected. ;)

If you ever read the post "K7T Turbo... mobo from hell", I'm afraid that was me.
Since those experiences, I have "washed clean" my cpu of any bridges I've connected, reinstalled the OS and find this is one sweet, stable pc. Even when I use that FSB adjuster in the BIOS to bring it up to 115 my 900 Tbird runs smooth and cool at about 1.03GHz. I didn't try pushing it further although the Fuzzy Logic program had pushed it to about 1.05GHz earlier.
I would like to OC to an FSB of at least 133 since my SDRAM is Crucial 7.5ns and I also have some Mushkin Rev 1.5. Unfortunately, when I closed the L1 and changed the L6 from 1100 to 1110 to go to a default mult. of 7, I could not boot. I can't fault the Turbo. I think I'll wait until I can find someone locally who can unlock the AMDs with confidence.
Since this is a BIOS thread, I have flashed using the .10g bios and I have a full range of multipliers down to about 5 or 5.5. That was flashed with a locked 900.

:( My L1 are connected properly and the Tbird runs just fine @ 11,5x100MHz. So why would it not even boot at FSB 133 ???

Has anyone ever overclocked succesfully a 1+ GHz Tbird @ 133MHz FSB on K7T Turbo. Should have sticked with Asus :((( Next time I'll know...

Cheers!

Bupkus Try closing only the L1 bridges. Lower multiplier @fsb100, save this in bios, then change to fsb133. Worked for me.

I also got the impression, reading some articles on Anandtech and Tom's Hardware, that in order to change the multiplier on L6, you need to make corresponding changes on L3 & L4 as well...

Perhaps you already tried that. I should have read your "mobo from hell" thread first, but got discouraged by the sheer size of it :)

RoCo,

Thats because when you remove the 133FSB jumper off the motherboard, the board will first read the multiplier off your CPU (which is at 10x) and then the BIOS. So the board is trying to intially boot at 1330mhz (10x133mhz) whicch is why your CPU hangs and doesn't boot.

Hi,

Ok, I was brave enough to flash my Turbo-R with the beta bios (from 2v2.4 to V1.0B16) which is for Turbo only (not RAID). It went well and I got another 20 point for my memory benchmark (424/497->446/513) but the drive benchmark still the same (18507->18510).

Jimmygates: you said that the beta bios didn?t recognized your RAID controller, but in my situation it?s still detect my RAID controller (the Fastrak bios display). But because I don?t use RAID, I can?t try if it?s working or not. Did you mobo display the FastTrak 100 lite bios information?

Note: after I flash I got this message ?unknown flash type? but everything seem to be run just fine for me. I flashed my using this switches: A:\AWFL789 W6330VSP.10g /NBL /SN /PY /CC /R /LD

The complains are I still can?t get this mobo to do 7.7x133 which I can with KT7A with my Duron 600 and the voltage seems wrong ( if I set 1.525V, I?ll get 1.65V)

Thanks,

Martin

Just got a new MSI K7T Turbo today to replace my K7TPro2A. Soon as I got it I flashed it with the new OC 10b16 bios on MSI's web page so I could get the lower multipliers. I wanted to run my unlocked 1gig Athlon at like 133x8 or 133x7.5. I found some weird things going on and the only thing I can attribute them to is bugs in this new bios.

For starters, the 7 multiplier re-maps to 11 and 7.5 re-maps to 11.5!! 8 and 8.5 don't work at all, but 9 and 9.5 work great, and the 6 and 6.5 multipliers work great too. And this is at 100FSB!!! The best I can do is 6.5x133 which gives 866mhz total, but this is way underclocking my CPU! 9x133 which is 1197 is too high for my 1giger to reach. Why the heck doesn't any of the 7 or 8 multipliers work!?! It doesn't make any sense. Anyone get those multipliers working at 100 or 133fsb?? Or know of someone at MSI who I can email about this problem. I even tried reflashing the bios but it didn't help.....
