Hi,
I just saw the review over here about the k7t turbo motherboard and they said they could not run an athlon at 133fsb, even tho they unlocked the processor. Is this a common thing, or just a fluke? I was planning on upgrading within the next couple of weeks to a 1.0ghz athlon. I have only seen 1 place so far give a quote on the 1.0ghz athlon w/266fsb and that was about $270. I would like to spend something close to $200, so please let me know if this is a real issue for anyone, or not. thanks.

its gotta be a fluke. The new chipset was made 133FSB and it would be preposterous for the board not to be able to reach it.

Pyro they where 100 FSB chips. Me and another guy from Tweakmax have come up with a reasoning behind it. We know the CPU will start at its default multiplier for a few milliseconds before POST, now with the A7V133 and KT7A they are full jumperless 100-160+.... but the MSI and Epox has a jumper for 100-133 and one for 133+.

So what we are thinking is that the Abit and Asus will start at the default multiplier x 100.... but the Epox and MSI do default multiplier x 133.... because of that jumper. So if your lets say 1Ghz CPU cant handle the 1.33Ghz that it will run at for a few milliseconds before it switches to the lower multiplier then you wont boot.

Well at TweakTown their review of the MSI K7T Turbo-R,they have a unlocked T-bird 900mhz doing 8x133mhz(1066mhz) so there must be something wrong from the other website review.

Of corse so :) hehe anyways it wouldn't mean all CPUs wont do it... any that could handle default multiplier x 133 would be fine.

AT this stage of the game it looks like the Iwill KK266 is the best so far (with latest BIOS) and just might be the one I am going to get. The A7V BIOS problems we had in the past appear to be carried over to the A7V133 and now the MSI appears to be so so.

What BIOS problems with the A7V133? I own it and there are no bugs in the 1002A-1 BIOS that I know of.
