MSI K7T: Problem with "PC Alert" software

I used to have no problems using MSI's "PC Alert" software to monitor the CPU and fans. Recently though, I get the following Windows error message more often than not:
Access violation at address 004CB46E in module 'alert.exe'. Read of address 00AD0000.
I uninstalled PC Alert and went to MSI's site for the latest version. Installed it and still get the error most of the time.

When the error occurs, the PC Alert icon is not present in the Task Bar's notification area (Windows XP). But when I check Windows Task Manager, the "Processes" tab shows that Alert.exe is running. Any ideas how to fix problem? Think it's an XP-related problem?

Hmmm not much you can do if you`ve the latest version, you could try another temp program like MBM which works well in WinXP.

heh. I have the same motherboard and PC alert is also bitchy, though in a different way. It keeps on giving me a reading of 10000RPM on my case fan when it is running more along the lines of 2500RPM. I think that MSI just doesn't really care at this since PC Alert for Ultra 645 doesn't even work. So just use MBM instead, granted MSI's interface is a lot slicker.
