I just got a MSI K7T Pro 2A and am getting internal stack overflow problems whenever I enable my Radeon 32MB DDR drivers. I tried assigning the stacks in Config.sys... result = nothing.

I tried the most recent bios from MSI... result = nothing.

Only have a Linksys 10/100 nic in besides the Radeon.

Standard VGA works after I reset the drivers in safe mode.
I have 2-128 Mushkin dimms in (tried with one, no differnt result).

Has anybody else run into this? How do I fix this?

I have pretty much the same setup with no errors to speak of (except the ability of my mainboard to continue to front side bus overclock.)

Nothing relating to the Radeon though.

Basically, you're setting yourself up for trouble by using a Radeon on a non-Intel platform..ditch it and get a GeForce 2 instead..

Well, the really screwy part is I have the exact card running on a MSI Pro 2 (non-A) and it runs fantastic, so that just adds to my confusion. But I know it should work with the chipset. I just haven'y heard/seen anybody else having conflicts with this setup.

I can't be the only one with this setup.

Plus *bump*

I had the exact same problem with the same setup. I downloaded the latest drivers from ATI's site and installed. Everything seems to be OK now.

chitek - I tried that - no go. Although, I guess I could FDISK and start with a fresh install with the new drivers. I even did a MSI Bios update also - still nadda.

Would I have residual drivers in there from the original ATI drivers that were installed and that could be causing the errors/conflict?

have you installed VIA's 4 in 1 AGP drivers? By now they should've been on the motherboard installation cd, but... ?

Yep tried the most recent via drivers with and without miniport drivers installed = no go...

Does this sound like possibly a bad Radeon?

DAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM1111111111111111TTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!

I swapped my two Radeons and the other one didn't work either!!! Both cards work in the Pro2 but not in my Pro2A. It's only when I use the drivers.

I re-"FDISKED" yesterday and installed 98 SE and then went straight for the Radeon drivers. Result: Stack overflow error, again!
I tried the Mobo drivers first the last two time so I thought maybe if I switced to video first... but nothin'!

I am soooo buggin. Why won't this work??? I haven't flashed to the absolute lastest MSI bios yet (will do this tonight) but the last two haven't helped so I am not overly optimistic that this one will.

What could be causing that f'in overflow??? I have changed the stack size. No change.

UUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE HELP ME, this is driving me NUTS!!!
