Hey all-

What are the best settings for my RAM on an MSI K7T Pro? (Specs below)

RAM:
1 64MB PC100 Micron stick
2 32MB PC100 Micron sticks

Gonna be getting a 256MB stick of Micron PC133 soon...

Also-- When I put in my PC133, do I have to do anything in the BIOS to make it run at PC133? And, will it allow me to possibly run my FSB at 109-110Mhz? At 109 now I get game crashes and blue-screens.

OK,first what BIOS are you using the reason I ask is they have change the way you do this from 1.6 & 1.8,so I will explain 1.6 Bios & below first,

set, hst clk +33 for 133mhz ram speed ,the default is for 100mhz ram,on memory timings you have CL2 , & CL3 this is easy for CAS2 ram use CL2 ,& CAS3 ram use CL3 setting, next you have 8ns/10,normal,fast,turbo settings, this depends on your ram ,which I don`t know what you have,so start at the slowest play a 3d game & work your way up until it locks up most people find normal setting good to start with.

On the 1.8 Bios ALL MEMORY SPEED TIMINGS ARE DONE AUTOMATICALLY if you have DRAM TIMINGS BY SPD (if set to YES) you can do it manually by selecting NO,if you select no follow below,

you will have SDRAM CAS LATENCY 2,3,AUTO,which mean 2 for CAS2 ram,3 for CAS3 ram ,AUTO FOR AUTO DETECT.

Next you have DRAM CLOCK 133 or 100 or AUTO ,AGAIN SET TO 133 FOR 133MHZ RAM.

AS for your overclocking FSB to 109/110 this is too high for stability for gaming back off to about 104/105mhz this will probably be the highest you can get for gaming.

With the 1.8 Bios I recommend setting the DRAM TIMING BY SPD to(YES) the reason being it improved my 3DMARK2000 score by 50 points rather then setting all memory timings the manual way.

Great! Thanks for the info!

As for the FSB, I guess I'll forget fooling with that because 104/105 isnt gonna give me any noticable difference except possible instability :)
