APIC is disabled by default in this BIOS.
There is a new feature known as "IDE DMA transfer access" an explanation from MSI follows:

<< IDE DMA transfer access
-this item is only for some of our customer who is using S4
-when enabled will help increase resume time from S4; side effect is that there will be IDE transfer error in DOS mode
-for normal users, we don't recommend to enabled this item
>>

NOTE: You must clear the BIOS using the Clear BIOS jumper after flashing or the board will not boot up.

I didn't clear CMOS, and mine booted fine after the flash just now. Just a heads up.

Did you specify /cc on the flash command line? If so the effect is the same as clearing the BIOS with the jumper.

Greg

I flashed it without any command line or jumper swapping on the K7N420 V1.0 board I put together recently.
