MSI K7D Master

I'm putting a rig together for a few friends, and I wanted to know what people thought about this mobo? It looks like it has all the features I need, and USB 2.0 to boot.

Not sure about the K7D Master, but I own a K7 Master. You have to know that there IS a major quality issue with these boards and that after some times, many many people got troubles with the AGP port. In fact, the board does not support Fastwrites on any GeForce card (don't know about the Radeons). I own to of these boards, and both had the same problem at the same time (about 4 months after I purchased them). The funny thing is, disable Fastwrites, and everything works fine.

Also, I have some minor stability issues with both boards (ramdom lockups, about once every 2 weeks. It usually locks up when doing nothing particularly stressful...)

Anyway, that's what I had to say... And I don't know if those problems are ironed out in the K7D

Thanks for the reply. This mobo is based of the mpx chipset, and is a dual proc mobo. On newegg it's got 44 ratings for all 5 stars.

I have just boght (been running for 4 days) the mdi k7d master and werry happy with it....

My setup is
k7d master
2x xp1800
512+256 mem ddr reg twinmos ram
msi geforce pro 2
realtek 10/100 nic
terrate sixpack 5,1+
etc

have been 100% stable for
photoshop 6
Lightwave 7,b
music, mp3 etc
divx etc


BUT...

Have a issue with games.. havent been able to load any games.. I guess it has something to do with irq or bios setting for the agp.

uhm.. doh.. found out why games did not work.. the geforce fan was dead... glowing gfx card anyone.. 🙂 well changed the cpu fan.. works like a sharm now..

Seems like it would be a good solution for a dual system. Not bad for $211
