MSI K7D Master-L, would more than 2 dimms of non-ECC memory work?

I have the above MB with 2x 256MB Apacer sticks of PC-2100 cas-2 RAM. I would like to upgrade to 1 GB of RAM, but would like to keep the existing sticks. I know the 2 first slots work with unregistered non-ECC memory, but has anyone tried the other slots?
I could get 2 more sticks of Apacer PC-2100 cas-2 sticks cheap... but would it work???

Pls help!

Thanks!

"registered" and "ECC" properties are nothing to do with each other. AMD 762 chipset _requires_ "registered" DIMMs, and uses ECC when available. With unbuffered DIMMs, you may or may not be lucky when you don't have too many, but normally, and particularly with many DIMMs, you need the better electrical behavior of registered DIMMs.

Thanks Peter,

And mixing buffered and unbuffered memory is prolly not a good idea...

yup, but MSI clearly states that their board works with unregistered DIMMs if you only use 2 memory slots. (Reason I bought it in the first place :) ).

Anybody actually tried this with more than 2 sticks of unregistered DIMMs???
