MSI K7 & Netgear NICs Incompatible?

I'm building a new T-Bird, DDR system soon, with the MSI K7 Master 1.1 (266FSB). I've read that my mobo and Netgear NIC's are incompatible. Is this true, and if so why? I have the Netgear FA311, and if it truly won't work with my board does anyone know of a conflict with Linksys NICs and the K7? thanks.
