MSI and Newegg keep firing off deals on the HD 7850 2GB. This one's a bit better (in my opinion) since its the Twin Frozr HSF instead of the blue and black single fan model that has been on sale recently.

I ordered mine on Monday with a promo code that gave me 10% off with the mobile app... The only reason why I hate the mobile app is because I can't use shop runner and my card still hasn't arrived.

I am hoping newegg will have 7950s back in stock again. I am hoping to pick one up for ~$150 before or after MIR...

of course you can, im sure a 7850 will never use more than 100 watts

What PSU do you have? It depends on the quality of the PSU and the number of amps on the 12v rail. If both categories pass, then you should be good to go and don't really have to worry about the PSU sticker wattage because a good 400W PSU should be sufficient for a single 7850.

It's hard to believe that any (gaming) PC will use 45w at full load even without the video card installed.

Mine's in a secondary PC assembled from old parts. I have a Phenom II X4 and an SSD (no HDD) with it and they're powered by a 430W Antec Basiq. Works fine. Checked with several power supply calculators and they list the recommended power supply for my specs at 350W.

I got mine and installed one on my dad's desktop 2 monitors running 1920 x 1200 and his big screen. It runs great and he can check his stock programs, watch his wintv and his streaming sports. Also it ran fine on what I thought was a 400w ps but it's actually an old coolermaster 350w. Can't say anything about gaming, really wish I bought another one, really good cheap upgrade, if anyone has one they don't want let me know. Thanks

Wish you said that about a week ago. My newegg RMA refund just got processed today. Mine was NIB because I wanted to exchange it for a 7870.

heads up the xfx 7870 is a newegg shocker today 139 after $30 rebate. I may get it, but he liked the r7850 because it's pretty quite for him. xfx I've had some small issues with.

That's the horrid Core version though which runs at lower clock speeds, no lifetime warranty, and has even worse cooling than the double D version which runs extremely hot and loud in my case when I am mining on it. But for gaming, it(XFX 7870 Double D) is awesome because it stays pretty cool and silent.

I was a fan and I still am. Primarily because my XFX Double D has lifetime warranty and I have had a lot of graphics cards die with age. It overclocks like a monster, but like I said, temps are an issue, so if you were to water cool it, I am sure you could probably get pretty amazing results.

Yes, it is noisy and it runs very hot, but there is a solution to everything... I put it in my office rig Basically, as long as it never sees my bedroom again, I will love it for a long time.

You were just a few days late. There was an Asus 7870 up until yesterday or two days ago at the same price as the XFX Core edition, except Asus card had much higher clocks and much better cooling. Sapphire and Power color cards were $130 after MIR up until this weekend, they might be coming back in stock if you want to wait a few more days.

Also, when I called to RMA my defective 7870 last week, they said they still have some in their warehouse but they are not sure when they will be available for sale, so that's another thing to look for since my MSI card runs extremely well. It stays cool and silent while mining at full load.

I ordered a Sapphire 7870, it got delivered today but I am still at work. I can't wait to compare it with my XFX and MSI card. Hopefully it will run silent and cool enough to leave it running at home in my bedroom

Their coolers went down the drain. Other than than that, I can't really find any flaws to their cards.
-Their coolers are not very loud (mine runs at 80-100% constantly due to extremely high temps) compared to others running at same RPMs. However, the other cards have no need to run at super high RPM because they run a lot cooler.
-They come with great warranty (lifetime warranty on Double D cards).
-They have very competitive prices.
-They overclock extremely well if you manage keep the temps under control.
