MSI h55 ATX board $45AR free ship

anyone know-the pic shows 3 pci slots but the specs say only one:
2 PCI Express gen2 x16 slots
1 PCI Express gen2 x1 slot
1 PCI slot, support 3.3V/ 5V PCI bus Interface

I want this, but swore off MSI rebates after the last experience. Maybe they are better now...
Will Fry's online step up and help you with a rebate problem?

Good deal even before the rebate - how do I refuse this? I could just drive to MC, pick up a ~$150 i5-760 and move to a Core based setup of south of $300? Crazy talk!

It's definitely got three PCI slots. Fry's messed up the spec list somehow. Here's the spec page on MSI's site:

This looks like a nice deal. Pick up an i5-760 on Newegg for $210 and some ram and you got a nice upgrade. These overclock pretty nice too don't they?

Very tempting, but when I take a step back and think rationally I see that my Pentium E5200 @ 3.6Ghz setup is still fast enough for what I use it for..

i'm in a similar situation... sitting on an old 680i sli board and a dual core cpu. don't know if i should just upgrade the cpu to like and 8400/8500/8600 and stick with this system a bit longer... or if i should just start piecing together parts like this as they go on sale and upgrade as soon as i have the parts.

this is almost too good to pass up. and i thoroughly regret not pulling the trigger when amazon had that crazy x58 deal a while back.

I'm gonna slowly build a i5 or i7 build i'm still running an x2 3600+ desktop

NOOOOOOoooo

Save pennies, and buy everything together within 1 month. NEVER drag it out, depreciation, and the wait...

You have everything but the ram, ram comes in 2 weeks,, and you're sitting on ur hands trying not to murder the UPS guy everyday when he doesn't have the "stuff>"

Other error in Fry's data:

Back Panel I/O Ports

* 1 x PS/2 Mouse / Keyboard port
* 1 x Optical SPDIF-out port
* 1 x eSATA port
* 6 x USB 2.0 ports
* 1 x RJ45 LAN Jack
* 1 x 6 in 1 audio jack
* 1 x HDMI port
* 1 x Graphic Card port

There's no eSata port

Also one of the pci ex slots is for x4

You guys seriously need to stop this... Lol. Just ordered one to pair it up with i5 650 I had lying around. I guess I'm upgrading my HTPC yet again... :whiste:

I'm running an older Athlon FX-55 chip. Socket 939 I think? I forget. Anyway, I was thinking hey, I could grab this board, a proc and some ram and upgrade to quad core. Then I dug into it a little more and realized they changed the motherboard connectors for the intel chip sets and I'd have to buy a new power supply too. That took me up over $400 for parts which was more than I was looking to spend. That much money would be better spent on a new laptop. My old Thinkpad T21 with the 800mhz P3 is getting a little old and slow.

Think I'm gonna skip this one. Good deal though.

FYI - I got in on this deal, still haven't gotten the rebate, and the board just died on me this morning. Knew I shouldn't have banked on a deal. Going back to Old Blue (Gigabyte).

MSI rebates take a while. I think it took a little over 3 months for the one from a previous MSI board I bought from Frys.

To bad the board died, don't know about MSI RMA experience.
