I've had countless problems with this laptop - either bios or firmware related. Now I only have one left.

Whenever my laptop comes out of sleep mode, the icon in the bottom right has the red X through the wireless icon, and it just says no networks available. I try to manually turn the adapter on and off to make it restart, but it does nothing.

The only temporary fix I have for it, is to click "troubleshoot problems." I usually have to do that twice and then it starts to work again.

Also when I had snow leopard installed - the wireless would not work from a cold boot. I would have to turn the computer on, boot into OSX, then restart the computer again for it to work.

I'm pretty sure this is a hardware/bios issue - as it has problems in both OSes, but is there anything else I can try? FYI everything is up to date. MSI sucks for support btw, as i had to get the bios, firmware, and drivers from the UK website.

try going into the "Wireless Network Connection Properties".. and go into the "Configure" option to view the adapter properties. There is a "Power Management" tab with an option to let the computer to turn off the device to save power... try disabling that, and saving out of that tab
