I just got this new MSI G3Ti200 Pro-VT and installed it with the newest Detonator drivers but I can't get the TV to be detected in device selection. Anyone else have this card and is using S-video out with detonator?
The problem is that the MSI uses Phillips 7108 TV-out chip that is not supported by current Detonators. On my machine it recocnizes the chip as some Brooktree variant. Your options are using MSI drivers, wait for Detonators to have that support (unknown whether or not this will happen) or using external software tvtool. There is a lot of discussion about this going on at MSI forums.

Yes, this is the 8850. Do you have the same card? How do I know which chip my system detects? TVTool says Philips 7108 is not supported. Is there anything besides the MSI driver that will work?
I have that exact same card myself. The newest Detonators don't work with the tv-out on that card. The best drivers to get are the beta MSI Detonator 22.50 drivers. I use those personally, they're fast and I don't have any problems with them.
TVtool does support Phillips 7108 since version 6.0. See here.
You can tell what TV-out chip is detected from Display properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> GeForce3 Ti 200. This info is of course incorrect when using Detonators. With MSI 21.83 drivers it says Phillips for me.
has anyone tried the 27.50 drivers on msi's website? MSI 27.50 I have been wary in the past of trying MSI drivers, and have just stuck to the NVDIA drivers, and just gave up trying to get the TV-out to work, but if someone has a way that would be great.
I used the previous MSI drivers with no problems whatsoever. The 27.50 drivers from MSI seem to give me the infinite loop bug in Jedi Knight II after about 30 minutes of playing. I reverted to the Detonator 23.12 drivers for now (which have always worked perfectly for me); when I'm back home and I want tv-out again I'll have to find a new solution. I guess I'll look into that TV Tool utility...
hmm. didnt even know tvtool was upto version 6. have 5.5 right now. i guess they only send out emails on actual updates and not betas. great program btw. i had problems with macrovision using tv-out.. tvtool fixes that.. too bad i rarely use it now.
