There's always a chance with the unknown, but I think this card has the potential to be the best 600 series card yet.

Yeah I've owned two MSI twin frozr cards, one was a big hit (stock gtx465 that overclocked like crazy) the other ended up being really disappointing in the end (gtx560ti with big factory overclock and crazy high voltage setting and very little OC room left over).

you never know with video cards. I saw a review of the gtx570 I used to have and they got 860 on stock voltage where I had to add voltage just for 785. these 670/680 card seem even more all over the place as one review can get 1350 out of a card yet another review get 1250 out of the same exact model card. it is truly just luck as cards with all the bells and whistles can end up worse than a pure stock card.

Hopefully there's some binning going on. What's the point of a premium card if you are going to leave the silicon to the luck of the draw?

well its pure luck now and that is why I did not even fool with a gtx680. I could have ended up with a worse overclocker that would have ended up no faster than my gtx670 since clock for clock a 680 is only 3-4% faster than a 670.

MSI is running a gimmick with their fancy cards. Remember 560tis that couldn't OC any better than cheap cards? Buy the gigabyte. 680 board with an extra phase and all 680 waterblocks work on it

It doubt MSI is binning for this card more aggressively than EVGA's gtx670 FTW is binned. It is possible that neither of them are binned; the factory overclock speeds aren't OMG higher than reference speeds and both are using upgraded PCB / components so achieving the higher clock speeds probably isn't an issue even with a so-so GK104 chip. The biggest reason I wanted the MSI over EVGA was for MSI's cooling solution. In single GPU setups with adequate case air-flow, the twin frozr II is superior in both noise and temps.
