The 7770 I had used a similar cooler, it stayed pretty cool, but when it heated up a bit the fan got loud quickly, like a high pitch buzzing. The fan looks slightly larger here though so maybe not the same issues. Even if the cooler is bad, for 240 bucks you can add a nice arctic cooler and have a silent and crazy cool card for under 290 dollars.

I wont be adding another cooler as that would defeat the whole point of me being cheap and getting this deal in the first place. plus I have no interest in fooling with changing the cooler even if money was not an issue. if its loud then its going back.

and which 7770 did you have as there are two different MSI single fan cards?

I installed it today and played around with it for a bit and so far I am really impressed. its super quiet and I never heard it ramp up any at all during loops of Heaven. also even when I raised the power target and oced it a bit it still never got any louder. temps were great too as they never went over 60 C even while holding 1189mhz during Heaven.

I will try and do some more overclocking later and might even start a thread about it since this card has no reviews.
