Darnit, I just bought the Asus MB/E5300 combo just last week for $100. I wonder if I should return that. Does anyone know if this is a boxed CPU like the other deal?

Some CPU Benchmarks: PassMark CPU
Phenom X3 8650 (1853) vs Pentium E5400 (2025)

I went out and bought the E5400 combo. Nice upgrade for my AMD 64 3000.

Edit: Please disregard the above numbers. I just found another entry for the E5400 which scores lower:

Pentium E5400 (1679)

Perhaps someone can provide more authoritative metrics to answer Lurker1's question.
 
I wanted the AMD combo but they were out at the Sunnyvale and San Jose stores.
San Jose was also out of the e5400 but they had about 10 of the e5200s still.
That was a few hours ago.
 
Keep them coming, I wish I could justify purchasing one of these, but I already have 2 boxes very very similar to this. No need for more.
