MSI driver remains after install of Nvidia driver?

Hi, I had installed my new MSI GF4 Ti4400 ViVo video card with a new installation of WinXP Pro. Everything updated at this time also. Anyway, first I installed the video driver that came with the card, dont remember what version it was though. I was gonna use Detonator Destroyer to remove this driver and update to latest Detonator because of problems in AlienVsPred2, but I couldnt find a Detonator Destroyer for Windows XP. So I just installed the new Detonator. However, the MSI driver had a tab in Display Properties (not advanced) for "MSI Information" and "MSI Clock". Now Display properties and device manager both show I am indeed using the new nVidia driver 2832, however the MSI tabs in display properties are still there? Does anyone think this is a problem? Do I somehow have a combination of driver files installed? If so, how do I remove the drivers and start from scratch with Detonator?

PS: The problem I was having wasnt fixed anyway. If I manually select the anitaliasing mode as 4x or Quincunx in Advanced display properties, Alien Vs Predator 2 will reboot my pc when I hit Esc to get the Menu after Ive started playing. If I leave it set to allow game to select antialiasing mode, then everything is fine, however I dont see anywhere in AvsP2 to select the antialiasing mode.

Thanks all. Have a good one.

I'm running the same card in WinXP and the same thing happened, although if I really wanted to get rid of it I would have uninstalled the MSI drivers first. The MSI drivers are different, since it isn't overwriting detonators with detonators, some files must be left over. Honestly, I don't mind it...and it isn't interfering with anything I do. The AvP2 issue unfortunately sounds like the game, not the way your drivers are setup.

Hunt down those detonator destroyers if you really want to, or uninstall your detonators and look for which driver files are getting used. I would imagine they will all get listed under display properties/settings/advanced, geforce4 ti4400 tab. If not, hunt down msi*.dll maybe.

I'm pretty sure that there isn't a detonator destroyer for win xp. To remove the det's just use the add/remove programs in the control panel. Even though I have the same MSI ti4400, I didn't install the drivers that came with it & installed newer detonators. Hope this helps

Before changing nVidia drivers always go to add/remove programs first regardless of whether or not you use detonator destroyer afterward. Otherwise you might have problems later on.
