msi cube

If you're really interested in that model, and you have a Fry's nearby, sign up for their coupons and check out them out every day. That exact model of the Cubi has been on sale (after rebate) for $170 twice and, a week or so ago, $180. I've damn near bought one each of the times it's gone on sale, but don't really have a use for one. The reviews for it are very positive.

Yea I know fry has it for sale; probelm is that it is in-store only and I don't live near one. I'm really debating between the msi cubi and brix. My only concern with the brix is that it runs warm and I will probably have to replace the wifi card (ilnux has poor support for it). Also the skylake hd 520 might be a godo compromise between iris pro and heat of the brix.

Fry's isn't what it used to be, sadly, but they still run some pretty good deals. I'm nowhere near a Microcenter so I know the pain. Everything I've read about the various Brix units has scared me off of them. I nearly bought one over the summer but the reviews (noise and heat) convinced me to wait. I ended up getting a Zotac Zbox with an Ivy Bridge i7 in it from Newegg when they ran a nice sale on them. It was a lot of fun messing around with it and it's been great as an HTPC. Good luck finding a SFF that will work for you.
