I think AMD originally planned to launch Q4 this year, but recently decided to delay the desktop 45nm launch until 2009 so that they could actually launch with volume.

I think how it will work is we will see maybe 2 models (AM2+) by years end (probably the more expensive high end) followed by the rest in Q1 09 (AM3/DDR3).

No, they actually pulled the 45nm server parts forward to Q408, but the desktop has remained the same (Q109). This is just a very poor article...
It is interesting (if true) that MSI is developing motherboards that support both DDR2 and DDR3 however...
