Meh, I'm over afterburner. Sapphire Trixx is a lot easier to use and best of all, it doesn't ***** at me when I want to change the voltage on my cards.

Tirxx is good and simple but doesn't have the OSD like AB has. That's a deal breaker for me.

Trying to figure out the censored word that makes sense...I keep coming up with "look" but I know that's not it haha.

This. I'm currently using Trixx and I like that it's a leaner program, but I definitely miss the little perks from AB such as OSD and video capture.

I'll be installing this tonight.

I still keep afterburner on the side for recording and OSD OC testing, but Trixx is my main go-to tool.

I like Afterburner but have not used Trixx before. Is it the same type of stuff? Fan adjustments, etc?

I have an issue ive been trying to resolve with my Afterburner. When I start up windows 7, sometimes it loads my GPU fan profile adjustments and sometimes it doesnt. I run speedfan as well and I think what happens is speedfan puts the GPU fan at 50%(which is fairly loud) and Afterburner for some reason doesnt auto adjust it like it normally does. So every time I bootup, I have to manually open up Afterburner from taskbar and go click/re-click the auto button to get it to work. Its kind of annoying.

I might grab the new ver Afterburner with the hopes it might fix my issue.

Big list of change points, upgrade-fixes .

The part about where AB interacts with the driver for fan control interests me.

funny one:
Now MSI Afterburner displays target VID instead of real voltage sensor reading on “GPU voltage” graph on graphics cards equipped with CHL8228 voltage regulators. These changes are implemented to avoid confusing the beginners and prevent the hysteria about voltage drop on AMD RADEON 7970 series graphic cards spreading across different discussion forums. Experienced users, understanding the difference between target and real voltages, may still unlock the previous real voltage monitoring mode via editing the hardware profiles

Doesn't work with HD 7970 and 12.3 drivers.

It does work.

I just did a full uninstall and I removed my previous profiles. Then a new installation. If you're trying to overlap another OC utility, that may cause issues.

I'm so tired of this program timing out on the betas. I hope this version is more permanent. All of the prior betas worked perfectly fine for me, so constantly "upgrading" was VERY annoying.

It doesn't work properly for me either on Cat 12.3s with a 7850. It's not allowing for higher GPU clockspeeds and it won't let me adjust the voltage at all.

Completely uninstalling Afterburner and removing all traces of it from the registry is what I've had to do in this kind of situation, unfortunately. But it worked fine afterward.

Hmm, weird. I did a clean uninstall and removed all old profiles, not sure if that made a difference.

I would definitely be sad if I had issues with afterburner, its my favorite software for oc'ing by a mile :)

It amazes me just how many people have problems using this utility. I'm running three HD 7970s in CrossFire and don't have any problems with it.

It's always run rock solid with my computer/setup. On, 2.1 I'm probably not going to upgrade because it does everything I want without a hiccup, and I don't expect to suddenly gain any higher o/c's, for now. People who use the movie recording features can comment if they are more useful. Those seem to have more options.
Maybe I'll try it out on a windows8 different install, that I really don't like (W8), but might force myself to get used to it? Or not.

with the latest cats and afterburner i get weird glitches like ghost images
going back 1 revision of cat drivers fixes it
i know its afterburner because if i only install the driver w/o it, it works fine
once i install afterburner, it happens

think it has to do with the way it overclocks
that's the only variable that caused it.

i installed the 12.3 cats + afterburner, no issues overclocking
installed 12.4 cats, everything works fine
installed afterburner, weird glitches pop up on everything, desktop, games
i remove afterburner, no issues.

Think the word would start with a b,ends with a tch and i agree.

OSD is pretty handy but after a while when you can dial on on performance and set with a final overclock and you know the system as a whole, you really didn't need OSD.

2.2 has been in beta for so long that it's strange to see it out of beta. Still, it's cool that it's finally out.

Just did a clean install of 12.3s and AB 2.2 and it doesn't work with unofficial overclocking. Everytime I bump the clock up to 1200 my actual GPU clock get't stuck at 925 and it seems like PowerPlay disables itself...

Strong unofficial overclock bro.
