MSI 975X Platinum V.2 will it work with a Q6600 Quad cpu?

MSI is hit and miss when it comes to their supported CPU page. I've seen many CPU's boot fine that were not listed but I've also seen ones that you would expect to work and they did not. For example I had a MSI board and the E8400 was on the supported page but the system would NOT boot with an E8500. One would expect that a simple step up from a supported E8400 to E8500 would not be a problem. Luckily it was solved with a simple bios update.
