Both Anandtech and Tomshardware recommended this 975X MB for Core 2 Duo. Specifically version 2 or Powerup Edition of the Platinum model. Newegg does not mention anything about what version it's shipping. Did you buy this MB recently from the Egg. Please comment.

Thanks,

CPU Type: Intel Core 2 Extreme/Core 2 Duo/Pentium EE/Pentium

so its the power up edition

read some reviews on this board. I have it and i have a few minor issues with it. nothing major though. Not the best OCer with current Bios (i got mine to 400mhz)

It does have some little quirks with booting while overclocked but it does oc very well for a 975X board. Mine is Orthos stable at 440x8 1.46V. I think the trick is to cool the northbridge well, if not with an aftermarket heatsink, than at least get a lot of air moving past it.

My overclocked core2 on my msi powerup has been rock stable, and had zero issues installing windows or any other software/drivers.

currently still has a funky reboot issue while overclocked, basicly instead of doing a restart from windows you have to power down and then turn it back on.
