Just got a 975x mobo and having trouble getting it to post. It doesn't beep or anything, turns on, but nothing on screen.

My PSU does not have the 8 pin extra power that hooks to the motherboard, is this necessary?

Hi bud,

This is my first time posting here and i will help you out. I had the same issue last night when i was building my new rig. I went crasy because i was getting the same results as you. I went to sleep late and i just couldnt figure it out.

Anyway i went over the instruction and i forgot to intall the 4 pin plug. Long first post sorry.

The answer is yes you do . The 4 pin plug gives the processor power. I just got it to boot. I hope this helps .

Well ,

It is weird cause before i insatll the board drivers i can see it turn on by looking at the green light when the ethernet cable is on. No when i put in the drivers form the CD , the gree light goes off and it does not blink. I got to divice manager and it does not show as it having issues. It just tells me that the network cable is unplugged or the card is unoperational.

I did search around and found very few people with the same issue but i cant find a fix. I did installed new driver from MSI but it didnt work either. I have yet to un grade the bios but the bios does not have issue as a fix for this board.
