You know, I was in the same boat as you. Just building two killer systems with two new AMD FX53/939 just getting dusty. Well guess what. I said screw it. Beginning of next year there will be the Nforce4 with Soundstorm 2, plus PCI Express (dual 6800gts anyone?) and probably DDR2. Now I needed these systems up and running by August 3rd, and everything MSI told me was beginning of August, and even then everyone jumping on that wagon will be a beta tester. Plus, the DFI Lanparty/939 nforce3 looks even better than the MSI one, but will be released later.

To make a long story short, you have three boards to choose from. ASUS A8V(K8T800Pro), Gigabyte's board (Nforce3), or the abit one (also K8T800).

I've heard bad things about both the Gigabyte board and the Abit board. The ASUS board was out first and has had a month to mature. I just said screw it and bought the ASUS board assuming I would use my christmas green to purchase a new MB and RAM.

I just want a system that works for DOOM3 with my FX53 chip. May do some minor overclocking, nothing major.

The ASUS board seems to be the way to go. Choose what you will, it won't be MSI if you want a DOOM3 machine. THAT much I know.

Also, here is a transcript of my emails with MSI, in case you were wondering....hopefully I won't go to hell for posting this info... ;)

===============================================================
I would say early August would be when to expect them. As far as quality is concerned, you would have to ask yourself a question. How can there be any issues, when the boards haven't even been released yet?

There are always issues during the design and architecture phase of motherboard design, no matter who the manufacturer is. Sometimes these issues delay the release of a board (so they can fix these issues before release). This product was originally scheduled for mid July, so there aren't any issues that I am aware of.

Thanks for the speedy respose Chad, although if you don't mind me saying it seems like a "canned" response.

Tell me my hopes for end of July are not in vein. As you can gather from my previous email, I need these BEFORE August. Do you think this is possible? (And not "possible" as in, say, world peace is "possible") If not I should plan another route. Either way, with the systems I'm getting ready for my clan, this could be an excellent marketing tool for the new MSI boards. There is a nasty rumor that MSI is having issues with these boards.

It just seems that this board must be close to release with the BIOS/manual available online, and the review at PCPerspective.

Have you >any< definitive word from your supplier/head office? Alot of people on the pcperspecitve MSI forums/64 computing forums are looking forward to this board for a DOOM3 upgrade. Why don't you drop in a leave some info?

Hi Tulio,

We are expecting this board to land in the US towards the end of July / beginning of August. From all I can gather, this is an accurate date.

I'm sure you haven't been asked this question before (joking).

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=607

It's the last piece to several machines I'm building for QuakeCON for the DOOM3 tournament. I'm not pleased with the only other socket 939 nvidia chipset mainboard available from Gigabyte. It looks like a steaming pile of manure, to put it bluntly.

QuakeCON is on the 11th of August this year, and am hoping to get these machines done a week (or two if possible) before getting on a jet plane.

Is there any info you can give me on a more "exact" date of release, because I've heard mid-July, Late-July, and early August. If it truly is August I may have to go with the VIA chip solution from ABIT or ASUS, but I would REALLY like to purchase the MSI Nforce board.

Does the ASUSA8V(K8T800Pro) have WORKING pci/agp locks for my Koolance overclocking fun? Does the cpu voltage go to 1.7 to 1.8. Those are the only things preventing me from grabbing one really
