My prescott 540 CPU idles at 63 and full loads at 82 !
I cab play doom3 as long as I want with no issues.. but I am worried.

Now is it the bios that's just wrong (like so many other MSI boards) or is it REAL ?

Anyone with the above board and with a correct temp reading ?

Any advice anyone please?

Is anyone able to comment about my question regarding the possibility of the bios giving the wrong numbers ? As I said I have had no stability problem which is what's making me think the problem is instead with the bios as any processor running at 85 will probably crash or simply shutdown

Above member tells me the temps are high - well that's obvious and that's why I am posting here.

So please .. any other owners of this motherboard on this site ?

Prescotts can survive 110ºC without meltdown. Might not be stable by then, but it won't die.

My overclocked Prescott (2.4A) doesn't like hitting 80-85ºC, will get a bit unstable by then but everything below is fair game.
