Hello All,

I am considering getting this card, and I wondered what you thought about it?
MSI NX8800GT 512M OC GeForce 8800GT 512MB
http://www.newegg.com/product/...x?item=N82E16814127329

Has anyone here heard anything about it?

It takes up two slot spaces (only plugs into 1), although the board only has 1 pci-e20 slot.

This is the motherboard I'm probably going to get:
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775
http://www.newegg.com/product/...x?item=N82E16813128059

Do you think that heat sink fan combo will fit without hitting or being too close to the southbridge?

Thanks for replying!

Get it here for $12 cheaper.

MSI 8800GT at ClubIT

Seems to be a good card with an improved cooler. If you don't want to spend $260 for the EVGA 8800GTS at Newegg, than this MSI seems the next best deal.

Don't forget to assure you get an adequate PSU for the whole thing. Buying this card made me abandon my coolermaster 450W to buy a Corsair 520HX.

I got mine Friday. In my comp it runs 39-41c idle and about 54-55c after COD4. My 7950GT ran 47c idle and about 60c under load.

I just ordered my new system components today on Newegg.

I'll be using a Sigma Shark 635watt with it in an Antec 900. I bought those last month.

XcoldSteelX, what board are you using?

Here is what I ordered today:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
Intel e2180
MSI NX8800GT 512M OC GeForce 8800GT 512MB
G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model SH-S203N - OEM
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler

I'm hoping after OC'ing I'll have a fast gaming rig.
