A friend of mine just bought one for the system he wants me to build. Anyone have experience with this board? I saw that Anand chose it as his #2 815 board in the 815 roundup but he didn't really say much about it.

I have the board & I think that it a good deal. It cost less than the Asus CUSL2 and also has onboard sound. The only reason they picked the asus is that it had a couple of extra features like 2 extra USB ports and it comes with the USB port adaptor. Also the MSI still has some jumpers that you need to set if you will be overclockin the CPU. As for stablity I think that the MSI is as stable if not more so than the ASUS mobo. dollar for dollay I think that the MSI is a better value specialy if you will be using the onboard sound and the little extra features that it has do out do the ASUS. But then again thats just my humble opionion.

I doubt if he will be using the onboard sound or video. He's a pretty intense gamer and just wanted to upgrade from his PII 350. He asked me to look into motherboards for him a couple of days ago and then WHAM I get an email from him last night saying he had purchased the MSI board. Guess I'll get to see for myself how well it works when I put his system together.

I like them. I have built alot of systems with the 815e pro mainboard and never ran into any issues with them. My own pesonal gaming machine has been overclocking a P3 700 cbo @1015 rock stable since August when the mainboard was first released. I dont think he will be disapointed.

I have the MSI i815E Pro for my 650E overclocked to 1021MHz. It's a very stable board with high FSBs.

can you guys tell me what mhz you pci & agp devices are running at? I was going to buy the msi 815e pro but right now I'm thinking of buying the msi via apollo 133a because I was told that it only has a 1/3 divider & that my chances of running a 750E fcpga at 133fsb to get 1000mhz was not too high & since you all are getting over 1ghz with this borad, I feel like getting this again? what are your standard & max temps? & is it only air cooled?

Rayearth I am running air cooling with a Alpha PAl 35 and a 38 Blackdelta and Artic Silver. My max stressed temp is 120f. My pci devices are two Promise Ultra 100's a SBLIVE 5.1 and a ATI TV WONDER and a Netgear nic FA311 and MY vidcard is a Asus gforce ddr.
