Good choice but going from a 6950 to a GTX 560 is...not smart.

EDIT: I am going by your sig btw.

I'm returning the 6950 because its too loud and hot and big. I want something that is dead quiet small and cool and I think the GTX560 twin fits that bill...

Well its down to the MSI 560 Twin Frozr or the MSI 6870 Twin Frozr. I like the power numbers on the the 6870 better it seems more efficient in this area, runs cooler. But the GTX560 runs faster, looks like about 5-10% faster. Its a tough choice. I do like how ATI has fan control built into their drivers, where as Nvidia you have to download a bunch of crap to control the fans. I could almost toss a coin and decide that way...

Seriously? Your not buying the 560 because of fan control? It runs 56C load with auto fans. What do you need to control? I'm sorry but this SO deserves the picard

I actually just picked up the EVGA GTX 560 myself. For $249. I canceled the order I had TG since Frys had it local anyway. the And at idle the fan is dead quiet I don't hear it. I played a bit of BC2 and it did ramp up a bit but it was still quiet. Its much much quieter than the stock fan that I had tested on the 6950 and 6870. And with EVGA fan control software I set it to something similar to what you did. But for now I don't really see a need for an aftermarket cooler on this thing, it is very quiet at load or idle, stock cooling that is. BC2 with max settings at 1920x1200 4x AA and 16x AF and supersampling set to 8x I was getting with vysnc on 60 fps of course but my low was only 57 not bad. This card is like half the size of the 6950. Seems to be a very very good all around card...

All the GTX 560 cards they had were $249. I've had Evga in the past and their customer support was outstanding and so is their warranty, so I went with that...

249 with no rebate?

Edit: ya, it is that price on their site, but only for preorder. When you say the EVGA is dead quiet, do you mean with your case open and your ear right up against it?
